Adopted Dolls

These dolls have already found loving homes and are now living with their adopters. While they may no longer be physically present in the museum, their stories, memories, and the joy they have brought are always cherished. The museum preserves the essence of these dolls, highlighting their journey and the happiness they’ve spread.

Honored Dolls

The Marseem Museum carefully preserves these dolls because of their delicate condition, historical significance, or advanced age. Though they are no longer available for acquisition, each doll carries a story that helped shape the spirit and legacy of Marseem. Their presence allows us to honor the craftsmanship, emotions, and moments they once embodied, ensuring that their stories remain a living and essential part of our shared history.

Resting Dolls

Some dolls are in a period of pause — resting quietly in the museum. They are cared for and honored, not for sale, but as part of the living history of Marseem. The Resting Stage reflects their value as art, as companions, and as part of our ongoing story. Every resting doll represents the time, care, and love that went into its creation, and they deserve to be celebrated.

Seeking Care Dolls

When a resting doll is ready to find a new home, it enters the Seeking Care Stage. Only our patrons can adopt these dolls. This ensures that each doll goes to someone who understands its story and will provide the thoughtful attention it deserves. Adoption in this stage is a conscious, meaningful choice — an act of care, not just a request.

The Role of Patrons

Patrons are a vital part of the Marseem Museum. By registering as a patron, you are joining a circle of individuals who value art, storytelling, and the handmade journey of each doll. Your patronage is a gesture of support for the museum and its unique vision, not merely a transaction.

Patrons receive exclusive privileges:

• Exclusive Access: Only patrons can participate in the adoption of Seeking Care dolls.
• Inside the Creative Process: Patrons share ideas, suggestions, and feedback while the Marseem family brainstorms new creations.
• Monthly Insights: Receive special notes, updates, and behind-the-scenes stories from the Marseem workshop.
• Museum Dashboard: Your patron membership is fully visible in your My Account area, including details of your patronage and access to relevant updates.

The one-time patron registration (€50) is a gesture of support for the Marseem Museum — a way to honor the unique art of each doll and the vision behind this living, breathing space. By joining, you contribute to a deeper appreciation of the dolls and ensure that the museum continues to thrive.

How Dolls Move Through the Museum

Each doll in the Marseem Museum has its own journey. From the shop to the museum, they move through stages of rest and care, ensuring attentive patrons appreciate every collectible cotton doll and that each one stands ready to find a new home.

 

• Dolls first leave the shop and, after 90 days, enter the Resting Stage in the museum.
• After rest, they may move into Seeking Care Stage, becoming available for adoption by patrons.
• Patrons are notified of dolls ready for adoption and can carefully select a doll to bring home, respecting the story and care behind each creation.

Museum Value Policy

The Marseem Museum exists to honor the artistic, emotional, and historical value of each handmade doll. For this reason, all dolls presented within the museum follow a strict value-preservation policy.

• No sales, promotions, or value reductions apply to museum dolls.
• No coupons are accepted.

These practices, while playful in the shop, do not align with the spirit of the museum.

Marseem Card Credit – The Only Exception

The only form of value adjustment permitted for museum dolls is Marseem Card credit.
This credit reflects prior patron engagement and is treated as a gesture of continuity and respect — not a discount. No other promotional mechanisms apply.
