Description
The Spanish Bill Poster Boy,Pablo is a young Spanish bill poster boy. He wears colorful wool shorts, a simple linen shirt, and suspenders that hold his clothes neatly in place. Over his shoulder, he carries a burlap bag filled with posters that must be placed carefully around the town.
When Pablo reaches the theatre square, he notices that the old posters on the great stone pillar are worn and faded. They must be replaced with new ones. As he looks up at the clock, he realizes it is nearly 12:30 at noon — time for his lunch break. Tired and very hungry, Pablo searches the square for a place to sit and rest.
Unfortunately, there is no bench anywhere in the square. After a moment, he decides the pillar itself will have to do. He places his glue bucket on the ground, leans against the column, and takes out his stale burger to eat.
Just as he begins his first bite, a group of birds suddenly flies toward him, hoping to share his meal. Pablo feels sorry — for himself and for the hungry birds too. He smiles and gently tosses them a small piece of bread. Then, he continues eating what remains of his lunch.
One bird, however, stays behind. Standing quietly on the pillar, it watches Pablo’s burger with great interest. Suddenly, it makes its move and snatches the burger right from Pablo’s hand.
Poor Pablo 🙂.
